Texas WIC

Women, Infant and Children (WIC) nutrition program helps pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat well, learn about nutrition and stay healthy. WIC provides services to pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, as well as children under age of 5 . All WIC services are free to those who qualify.

Texas CHIP 

(Children's Health Insurance Program)


Children in Texas without health insurance may be able to get low cost or free health coverage from the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or Children’s Medicaid. Both programs cover office visits, prescription drugs, dental care, eye exams, glasses, and much more. Learn more about what is covered.


Families with children who get Children’s Medicaid pay nothing and children with CHIP pay no more than $50 a year for health care coverage. Some families with CHIP also may need to pay co-pays for some services. Learn more about costs.



 

The Healthy Marriage Program provides voluntary marriage and relationship education skills. Through the Twogether in Texas website you can locate marital, pre-marital and relationship counselors and classes.

To learn more about qualifying for marriage education, enter your ZIP code, city or county in the “Search for Marriage Education Services” field and click search.

  • All Texans can use these services.
  • There are no eligibility requirements.
  • Couples who complete pre-marital education through one of the counselors listed on this website will receive a completion certificate that can be presented to a Texas county clerk for:
    • Up to $60 off their marriage license fee
    • Waiving the 72-hour waiting period
